Mission

to support the UN's environmental programmes in Ukraine; promote the implementation of its global programmes and projects and agreements on environmental policy and public initiatives with international requirements; protect UNEPCom members' interests.

Objectives

• to participate in the development of environmental policy in Ukraine, and conduct mass activities;
• to organise and hold conferences, workshops, excursions, festivals, exhibitions and auctions;
• to establish newspapers, magazines, journals, TV and radio programmes, etc. 

The organisation's experience in the conservation of small rivers

In 2003, within the framework of the Small Grants Programme, organised by the International Development Research Centre (IDRC) Ottawa, Canada, and the UNDP-GEF Dnipro Basin Environment Programme, the project, "Conducting information and educational tours in the Dnipro basin (with the River Ros as an example)", was carried out.

In 2003, within the framework of the "Save your River" Small Grants Programme organised by the Wetland International Black Sea Programme, the project "An Examination of the River Zgar and the Development and Approval of the Local Environmental Action Plan to Conserve it" was supported.
